President Blog

Dear Rotarians,

Thanks to all for a fabulous start to the new rotary year. The month of July has been very eventful. Many members have taken lead in planning projects proactively and involvement of members and Anns in various projects and activities have put in lot of energy into the club.

We started with a mega bold donation camp in which we collected record breaking 150 bottles that would eventually benefit around 500 patients. It was possible only due to collective efforts by our medical team with other Rotarians along with Garware blood bank staff, Pimpri serological institute, Sri Shankar Maharaj Seva Mandal and all the POSCO team.

Our installation ceremony was much appreciated by the DG Manjoo Phadke and many district officers. It was an event that represented skills and efforts of the organizing team under able leadership of Rtn.Sandip putting their hearts out to make it a memorable one. The one of its kind Club Roster was one of the highlights of the event. Thanks to Rtn Raju, Prasad, Ann Mrunalini and Ashwini from Array designs. They have done such a wonderful job that would be remembered for years to come.

We saw another successful and sustained project of vaccination at TDNP. Around 350+ employees were vaccinated for TT. This was the 10th year of this project. All the credit goes to Rtn. Dr. Neha Kulkarni who has carried it for so long years.

Last year we commenced our CSR projects with POSCO. With efforts of Rtn. Mahesh Mahajan and Rtn Rushikesh we have been able to continue our CSR activities with POSCO this year also. We plan to take up some big and important projects this year through CSR. I appeal to all members to start dialog with companies around us and explore possibilities to work with them. The DG along with district team has published list of our thrust areas for the year. Anganwadi rehabilitation, pediatric heart surgeries, Aerators for saving water, Borewell recharge are few of the areas we will be focusing this year. Our club members also have come with innovative project ideas. Distribution of 100 cycles to rural children by Rtn Vishwnath Marathe, Open gym by Rtn Mangesh Garole, the grand Hopethon ( a marathon around theme of public image) by the PI team are going to be star projects of this year. We are of course going to continue with our Rotary fest event.

As expressed during my installation speech we are here to have a better friendship, establish more trust and transparency that will help us take our club to a new height. Let us all come together and join hands to create hope in the world.
